WELCOME TO THE P.S. 10 PTA
AFTER SCHOOL PROGRAM

The P.S. 10 PTA After School Program is a parent developed program providing service to families who need care beyond the regular school day. Our goal is to give our students an opportunity to learn a craft, develop a talent or enjoy a hobby in the safe, nurturing environment of our P.S. 10 community. We offer classes of varied interests for grades K-5 including sports, music, language, technology and the arts. Students are separated by age appropriate groups—K, 1st and 2nd and 3rd through 5th. All our students are in the continuous care of P.S. 10 teachers, co-teachers and when appropriate to the course, outside teaching artists. Each student may select one enrichment class to participate in daily or they may choose “Open Session.”

The P.S. 10 PTA After School Program runs three sessions — Fall, Winter and Spring. A course brochure is issued prior to enrollment of every session. Under Downloads, is a sample of last Spring schedule and class descriptions.

Registration for Fall 2010

2010-2011 P.S. 10 PTA After School Program will begin on Monday, September 13th for grades 1st through 5th and Tuesday, September 14th for Kindergarten.

From Monday, September 13th through Friday, October 1st, (this period is called September Smash) the After School Program will provide care from 3pm to 6pm daily.

The afternoon will include homework help, table activities, outdoor supervised free play and a choice of art, movement and sports.

Enrichment Classes begin October 4th. Enrollment for these classes will be held the week of September 20th and program brochure will be available the week of September 13th.

During the summer you may register for After School by mailing in the following:

Registration fee of $45 (check or money order preferred).
Family registration form (see below for download)
Medical and health form (one per child, see below for download)
Pick up permission form (see below for download)

You will receive a confirmation via email.

If you are registering for the September Smash (September 13th to October 1st), please send in the September Enrollment (one per child) form(s) and payment (check or money ordered preferred).

You may also register for After School on Wednesday, September 8th.

You must be pre-registered with the program before enrolling in classes.
Registration forms are available on line at ps10.org or in the PTA room #257.
The pre-registration fee is $45.00. It is a one time, yearly fee per family and is non-refundable.

Program Hours

3 pm to 6 pm, Monday - Friday.
Half days are available for an additional charge.
There is no After School when school is closed for holidays and vacation days.

P.S. 10 After School Committee

The P.S. 10 After School committee is comprised of parents and guardians of children from Kindergarten to 5th grade. Our main goal is to be an advisory body to the After School Program.
